CHECK CARD/ATM CARD
You'll find our VISA Check Card to be the greatest improvement to our checking accounts in a long time. You'll absolutely love its convenience and the fact that it's so easy to use.
How does it work?
Your VISA Check Card is a plastic card that when used, electronically accesses the money in your checking account to pay for goods and services. It's accepted by millions of merchants around the world who take VISA, so you can even use it at places that will not accept a personal check. It can be used in person, over the phone, by mail, even via the Internet. (It's so easy to use your Check Card -- all you do is hand over your card or give your account number, sign your receipt if in person, then enter your purchase in your checkbook register. That's it.) Also, it doubles as an ATM card so you can withdraw cash from your checking or savings at ATMs around the world.
How do I keep track of my purchases and cash withdrawals?
Simply record your transactions in your checkbook register. Since joint account holders can both have access to the checkbook at the same time via checks and the Check Card, it's especially important to record your transactions. Your monthly statements will show each transaction's date, dollar amount and merchant name or ATM location for even more detailed record keeping than you get with your paper checks.
What kind of liability is involved?
VISA's "zero liability" policy protects you from virtually all unauthorized non-PIN based use of your card through the VISA system. You can use your card everywhere, including the Internet, with complete confidence. If your card is ever lost or stolen, we do still need you to contact us immediately.
What does it cost?
Nothing! A Check Card adds great value to your UnitedOne checking account. You get unlimited use of your Check Card through the VISA system, and unlimited ATM transactions. Note a fee may be charged by the owner of an ATM not owned by UnitedOne, though UnitedOne does not charge you anything to use a non-UnitedOne ATM. There are ATMs located at each of our offices.
How do I apply?
A separate application needs to be completed, please e-mail us at savings@UnitedOne.org or call any office for details.
DIRECT DEPOSIT
Save time and money with direct deposit, and save yourself from worrying about getting your money. When you have your net paycheck, government or retirement check directly deposited to your UnitedOne checking or savings account, you can depend on your money being in your account for you on time, every time - even if you're sick or on vacation. In fact, it'll be there for you even before you would receive a paper check! You'll still receive a pay stub from your employer listing all deductions and net amount. Plus, you'll receive free checking and a free Check Card as long as you have your check deposited into your UnitedOne checking account. E-mail us at savings@UnitedOne.org or contact a Member Service Representative for more information.
PAYROLL DEDUCTION
Payroll deduction differs from direct deposit in that you can have just a portion of your check deposited at UnitedOne rather than your entire net check. It's a fantastic way to automatically make UnitedOne loan payments, or make deposits to your IRA, Christmas Club, or other savings account. You can also have your net check deposited to your UnitedOne savings or checking. Having it deposited to your UnitedOne checking qualifies you for free checking and a free Check Card as long as your net check is deposited to the account.
Many employers offer payroll deduction service through UnitedOne Credit Union. Either ask your employer or any UnitedOne Member Service Representative if this is an option for you.
CREDIT CARDS
UnitedOne offers a wide variety of Visa consumer and business credit cards, most with rewards programs. Look over the details here online and apply today, or pick up an application at any UnitedOne office. Make your payments or get credit card account information anytime online.
E-mail us at mail@UnitedOne.org or talk with any Member Service Representative today for more information on any of these services.
