UnitedOne Credit Union helped facilitate a $15,000 donation to The Neighborhood of Manitowoc County, Inc. through the Elan Charitable Giving Program.
The donation will help support The Neighborhood of Manitowoc County’s mission of helping individuals experiencing homelessness transition to self-sufficiency and independent living. Funding will also support the organization’s rehabilitation of the historic McKinley Building into 36 affordable apartment units.
“At UnitedOne, we believe strong communities are built through collaboration and support,” UnitedOne CEO Amy Sonnemann said. “The work The Neighborhood is doing addresses critical housing needs in our area, and we are proud to assist with those efforts.”
UnitedOne is one of five credit unions selected by Elan Credit Card this year to receive charitable funding in recognition of International Credit Union Day. Through the initiative, Elan is contributing a total of $75,000 to nonprofit organizations across the U.S.
“Credit unions play a vital role in helping individuals, families, and businesses thrive, and we are proud to support the communities they serve,” said Peter Klukken, Head of Elan Credit Card. “Through the Elan Charitable Giving Program, we can celebrate our partnerships in a meaningful way while helping local organizations expand their impact where it is needed most.”
Since launching in 2022, the Elan Charitable Giving Program has distributed more than $2.5 million to over 175 nonprofits across the U.S.
